Mon Laferte performs on Jimmy Kimmel Live! "Autopoiética Tour 2024" continues in Europe
Chilean-Mexican powerhouse Mon Laferte appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night performing "Tenochtitlán", her experimental trip-hop track that delves into themes of discrimination, resilience, and cultural identity.
Mon recently completed a successful U.S. run of her ‘Autopoiética Tour 2024', currently touring Europe through the end of July. On August 1, Mon Laferte, te amo will premiere exclusively on Netflix.
Mon Laferte, te amo is the intimate portrait of an artist who went through a raw childhood to revolutionize Latin American music. The documentary gives an intimate look at Mon's world tour between 2021 and 2022, transitioning towards motherhood while facing the deepest wounds of a history marked by abuse, deprivation, and a permanent search for love. About Mon Laferte:
Norma Monserrat Bustamante Laferte, born on May 2, 1983, in Viña del Mar, also includes Latin American singer-songwriter and visual artist Mon Laferte. A creator who, in her music, moves naturally in a wide variety of genres. From musical influences she cultivated since she was a teenager in her native Viña del Mar, to what Mexico, her second home since 2007, has taught her, which sheltered her to release her first albums independently.
To date, she has released eight albums: Desechable (2011), Tornasol (2013), Mon Laferte Vol. 1 (2015), La Trenza (2017), Norma (2018), Seis (2021), 1940 Carmen(2021) and Autopoiética (2023), works that have been the result of experimentation and overcoming the fear of trial and error.
Autopoiética, her eighth studio album, has shaken all corners of the world, being named ‘Best of 2023’ by Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, NPR Music, Variety, Billboard,Time Magazine, The Los Angeles Times, & The Needle Drop.
With them, she has been able to perform on major stages such as Coachella, Vive Latino, Viña del Mar, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Hollywood Bowl, Lincoln Center, Movistar Arena Chile, Movistar Arena Argentina, and the National Auditorium of Mexico City among others. She has earned four Latin GRAMMYs and two GRAMMY nominations. Selling millions of albums worldwide, Mon Laferte has already established herself as one of the most important singer-songwriters.
