ÄSTRA unleashes new single ABC
Los Angeles-based alternative rock band, ÄSTRA returns with their latest single, "ABC," a track that delves deep into the themes of disillusionment, inner conflict, and the relentless search for meaning in life. Following their previous releases, "Easy Ride" and "The Well," ÄSTRA continues to craft music that resonates with the struggles and hopes of everyday life, offering listeners a raw and introspective experience.
"ABC" takes us on a journey of introspection, grappling with disillusionment and the search for clarity in a world where everything seems uncertain. The lyrics, written by Zach Adams, reflect a raw vulnerability, capturing the essence of confronting life's challenges while striving for self-awareness. Zach Adams, the band's vocalist, describes the inspiration behind the song as stemming from a period of low morale and self-doubt following a personal breakup. "It's almost like giving ourselves a pep talk," Adams explains. "The moral of the whole song is that people and experiences can tear you down, but if you persevere and focus on your goals, anything is attainable."
Written and produced by Guillermo Morales Vitola, who also serves as the band's drummer, "ABC", features additional guitars by Ty Engle. The track was recorded and engineered by Vitola, with mixing by both Vitola and Engle. Mastering was handled by Ty Engle at Engle Studios in Tucson, AZ. Released under the Mercado Negro label, "ABC" showcases the band's evolving sound, blending their unique mix of alternative rock with introspective and emotionally charged lyrics.
