Iconic Chilean-Mexican artist Mon Laferte has been awarded the Latin GRAMMY® in the category of Best Alternative Music Album, reaffirming her status as one of the boldest and most innovative voices in contemporary Latin music.
This award crowns an extraordinary year for Mon, who was also recently nominated for the 2025 GRAMMY® in the “Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album” category thanks to her groundbreaking album Autopoiética. Released in late 2023, this album has redefined the music scene with a daring blend of electronic sounds and traditional Latin elements, inspired by the concept of autopoiesis by renowned Chilean biologist Humberto Maturana.
Autopoiética has been praised for its profound exploration of themes such as identity and self-expression, positioning itself as a contemporary masterpiece. Songs like the impactful single “Tenochtitlán,” previously nominated for "Record of the Year," showcase her unique ability to weave historical narratives with modern soundscapes, taking listeners on an unprecedented sonic and emotional journey.

Inside Norma Monserrat Bustamante Laferte also lives the Latin American singer-songwriter and visual artist Mon Laferte. A creator who, in her music, moves naturally in a wide variety of genres. From musical influences that she cultivated since she was a teenager in her native Viña del Mar, to what she has learned from Mexico, her second home since 2007, where she released her first albums independently.
