Diamante Eléctrico, one of the most exciting bands to come out of Colombia, is taking their funky, dance-party sound to the next level! They are the latest guests on a very special and unprecedented "El Tiny" take over of Tiny Desk (Home) Concerts, during Hispanic Heritage Month featuring a series of all Latin Tiny Desk Concerts (15th of September- 15th of October) and an all-star lineup including: Sech, Maye, Yendry, J Balvin, Prince Royce, Silvana Estrada, Nicki Nicole, Eme Alfonso, Camila Cabello, and Diamante Eléctrico.
Dropping today Friday, September 17th, the unparalleled four-song performance is a celebration of the music from their beloved home country of Colombia, featuring a mix of Afro-Colombia roots music and modern pop, with guest performers Mario Galeano, best known as the musical master mind behind Frente Cumbiero and Nicolai Fella from LosPetitFellas. Diamante highlights some of their most emblematic tunes revisited in a new format, including songs from their highly anticipated and latest studio album "Mira Lo Que Me Hiciste Hacer".
Their performance in el "El Tiny" for Tiny Desk (Home) Concerts comes just before the kick-off of a major US tour, in support of Mexico's leading alternative rock band Cafe Tacvba, which opens at the Irving Plaza in New York City on November 2nd. This will be the second time that Diamante performs alongside their Mexican counterparts. In 2017, both groups shared the House of Blues Stage for a few select performances throughout California.
NPR Music's Tiny Desk series reaches more than 16 Million monthly viewers, who collectively watch more than 50 Million concerts a month.
Led by Juan Galeano and Daniel Álvarez, the celebrated Latin GRAMMY award winning band is approaching 10 years on the music scene as a band. Together, they have brought their infectious live show to some of the most important festivals in the world such as Coachella, Austin City Limits, Lollapalooza, Vive Latino, SWSX, Rock Al Parque and Eurockenness. They played with the Foo Fighters, The Rolling Stones and The Raconteurs.
