Diamante Eléctrico: Receives Latin Grammy® Nomination for “Best Rock Song” with "Algo Bueno Tenía Que Tener (Bogotá)"

The band prepares to light up the stages in Mexico withtheir Malhablado tour, following a successful run of shows in Colombia, with dates in Querétaro, Toluca, and Mexico City in early October.

Diamante Eléctrico has been recognized witha Latin GRAMMY® nomination for “Best Rock Song” with"Algo Bueno Tenía que Tener (Bogotá)," the opening track fromtheir latest album, Malhablado. Released in June 2024, Malhablado isthe band’s eighth studio album and represents a creative evolution, exploringnew sonic landscapes influenced by lo-fi aesthetics and a raw, experimentalsound.

 

"Algo Bueno Tenía que Tener (Bogotá)"begins with the classic jingle from Melodía Stereo, immediatelyimmersing listeners in the unique atmosphere of the band's hometown. Anchoredby a driving bassline, the song captures the spirit of the city whileshowcasing Diamante Eléctrico's knack for crafting immersive,emotionally resonant music. The accompanying video, directed by ÁlvaroCogollos, debuted in February 2024 and has been praised for its compellingvisuals.

 

Malhablado, produced by founding band member JuanGaleano, was created outside traditional studio methods, with the groupopting for a tech-driven "laboratory" approach. This unconventionalprocess resulted in a sound that pushes boundaries while staying true to theband’s signature storytelling style. With standout tracks like "El BigBang" (featuring Silvestre y La Naranja), "Yoya,"and "Porcelana," the album dives into love, everyday life, andpersonal experiences, all wrapped in a dynamic, city-inspired sound.

 

After a successful run of concerts in Colombia, includingunforgettable performances in Bucaramanga, Cali, Medellín, and Bogotá, DiamanteEléctrico is gearing up for their highly anticipated return to Mexico. The bandwill take the stage in Querétaro on October 3rd at Sala Arpa,followed by Toluca on October 4th at Foro Landó, and Mexico Cityon October 5th at Foro Puebla. The Mexico City show will beespecially memorable, with Diamante Eléctrico sharing thestage with Isla de Caras, crafting a night that promises to be fullof energy and unforgettable moments.

 

Diamante Eléctrico is no stranger to the LatinGRAMMY® spotlight. Since their formation in 2012, the Colombian bandhas earned multiple nominations and wins. They have taken home the LatinGRAMMY® for “Best Rock Album” twice, and their hit "DéjalaRodar" earned them “Best Rock Song” in 2017. Their most recentwin came in 2023 with “Best Rock Song” for "Leche de Tigre."The band’s track record at the Latin GRAMMY® Awards underscores theirconsistency and impact within Latin music, helping elevate Colombian talent onthe international stage.

 

The 25th Annual Latin GRAMMY® Awards willtake place on Thursday, November 14th, 2024, at the KaseyaCenter in Miami, Florida, and will be broadcast live on Univision.
